Cheese Sandwiches

Cheese and bread are two of our favorite foods, and they taste even better together. Whether it's feta and focaccia, Gruyere and brioche or cheddar and pumpernickel, these two can do no wrong. One of our favorite cheesy sandwiches isasparagus and goat cheese on a baguette. The asparagus is both raw and roasted, and layered onto the crusty bread with creamy avocado, fresh mint and a little red wine vinegar. For something a little meltier, we love to stackgruyere, sautéed onions, Dijon mustard and pickles on sandwich breadand grill it until it's toasty. Nancy Silverton’s L.A. restaurant Pizzeria Mozza celebrates unfussy, straightforward, focused food that uses fresh California produce. This upgraded grilled cheese by the1990 BNC alumis filled with a charred sweet corn-studded blend of nutty English-cheddar, sharp caciocavallo, and just enough mayonnaise to bind it all together. Thick slices of sourdough get a beautifully buttery, golden crust in a cast iron skillet, while Calibrian chile sneaks in with just the right amount of heat. Mini Brie Sandwiches with Quick Balsamic-Leek Jam
These crisp, buttery, and supremely gooey grilled cheese sandwiches get fantastic tang from sourdough bread and a bright mustardy bite from leeks. They were inspired by a quiche that TV personality Alex Guarnaschelli ate years ago made from brioche layered with caramelized leeks and baked with Gruyère and Parmesan. In this version, she uses Brie because she says that while there are cheeses with more distinct flavor, no other cheese ends up so creamy.
Carnitas and Chutney Grilled Cheese Sandwich

The carnitas recipe makes enough shredded pork for 12 sandwiches, though you may find other delicious uses for it. Chile Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
In the early years ofTop Chef,法官contesta永远同意了nts should stay and which should go, and conversations often dragged into the wee hours. These days, the judges generally decide more quickly, but during season 7, one particularly long, lively debate required substantial refueling, and Padma Lakshmi introduced Gail Simmons to a favorite late-night snack: melted sharp cheese and spicy chiles on toast. Simmons had to know more! Lakshmi explained that she often ate this popular open-face sandwich as a child in India. A recent taste of the cheese toast at a buzzy Indian restaurant in London inspired Simmons to create her own version. Her grilled cheese crossed with chile-cheese gets a flavor boost from mango chutney spiced with fresh ginger, which lends both floral and peppery notes.Slideshow: More Grilled Cheese Recipes
