I REALLY wanted these to be good....but they were so dense. Over powerful and tasted too much like dark chocolate. I think there’s just too much non sweetened chocolate (i.e the cocoa powder, unsweetened chocolate bars and bittersweet chocolate) for one recipe.
I tried them, too. They should have been better. They were somewhat leaden. I followed the recipe faithfully, but noticed there was no baking soda or baking powder. Could that be what was missing?
Sounded delicious with four of my fave ingredients: chocolate, bacon, pecans and bourbon. It wasn't, just expensive to make and no exceptional taste. Awfully dense. Seems like something is missing.
